This has been resolved off-list, agreement is in place.

It was meant to be against whatever was the trunk on 24 Dec.
I tried applying it to a clean checkout today (svnversion on the result says 24210M), and I had no failures here.
Is it possible my email client is somehow corrupting the patch file, and de-corrupting it on input (I copy-pasted my patch from the original email when trying today)?

Could I submit it as an attachment instead?
