I tried that, same result.

The problem seems to be pretty fundamental:

$ cat a.c
int main(void) {}
$ mpicc a.c
$ ./a.out
$ ṁpirun -np 1 ./a.out
Segmentation fault (core dumped)

I'll rebuild with more debug information and retry.
