From what I understand, unix variants can talk to each other (linux to macosx sunos ...) but windows cannot talk to non windows (not yet? :-)

I wonder whether openmpi can run on two different os. For example ,one process run on a windows machine ,the other runs on a linux machine, and the two processes can communicate with each other
