Just to be clear -- my question was about PLPA, not OMPI. But OMPI is
one of PLPA's biggest customers, so the question is relevant. :-) It
certainly would be convenient to bundle libtopology inside OMPI rather
than relying on it already being installed. We have used this
argument before with other "key" OMPI libraries -- such as libltdl,
libevent, etc. That's one of the reasons we went through the trouble
of making PLPA embed-able.
