While Cray has sold several Cray XT systems with the portals network API, they also provide a Cray-supported MPI implementation.
So, the question is how many Cray XT systems choose to deploy OpenMPI *and* will want to upgrade to OpenMPI 1.7?

Outside of national labs, there must be some users also. Cray has sold a number of XT4/XT5 in the industry.

Probably ORNL-UT Kraken system still use it. I would not be so eager to remove it.

Hi all -

This is not an RFC, but more a question for the community. Is anyone still actively using the Portals MTL/BTLs? We're not at Sandia. I know ORNL was using it at one point. SNL probably can't do much in the way of support anymore, so if no one wants them, it might make sense to remove the Portals MTL/BTL for 1.7. Of course, I'll continue supporting all the Portals4 code :).
